Decorate sugar cookies for Christmas?
I'm thinking of decorating sugar cookies from Christmas next week. I've never made biscuits sugar or decorated them before, so I had a couple of questions. I hope you all can help? :.) 1) Is it the best royal icing for decoration? 2.) Do you have to have two different consistencies of icing? (One of the pipes. A flood) 3) This is something linked to the previous question: I needed to make Christmas tree ornaments, so you need to thaw the layer. If I have to use two different consistencies of icing is used more thick as the decor and the weakest of floods / full color? 4.) What is your favorite recipe for sugar cookies? 5.) What are your sweet Bookmark / decorations to use? (Sugar colors, H & M, etc.) 6.) I can buy supplies anywhere? (Target, grocery store, from Michael?) 7.) Any other tips / tricks / comments? Thank you very much and have a wonderful holiday!
royal icing gets too hard, so not recommend that you use to ice. Go as smoothly as possible. Use dye and plain old vanilla frosting or cream cheese. I would use Betty Crocker. If you go use of mini Christmas trees m & m's in the balls. yellow star that can knead until soft and cut a star from the top. Hearing is the recipe of sugar cookie that we use every year for every holiday. 2 3 / 4 c flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1.2 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup butter 1 1 / 2 cup sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 3-4 tablespoons cream a variation of this would be to use lemon juice or orange juice instead of cream or peppermint extract instead of vanilla. Once the dough is made separately in 2 balls. refrigerate for 2 hours. display to 1 / 4 inch thick and use cookie cutter. bake 70-10 min at 350 *
