crunchy Christmas cookies rise?

Years ago my grandmother made delicious Christmas cookies with crisp rice cereal. They were made with green and red crispies Christmas colors. She used a recipe that was on the side of the box. This had to be 10 years ago. We have not been able to find the recipe. I searched Online tirelessly, but have had no help. They were sweet but crunchy cookies with cereal in them.
