Those in the know … Vegetarian Christmas dinner ideas?
Hi, I'm vegetarian and I've really never celebrated Christmas with the traditional dinner. Now I live with my husband and family and have traditional turkey etc. (all eat meat, except me, including fish "I was thinking that I could bring something new vegetarian at the table dinner, "a first course, main and desert, possibly (depending how long it takes all). So far, Christmas traditon wise, I found roast pumpkin rice as the main. Please could you give me suggestions on some other delicious foods xmas? I'm also thinking of making a surprise meat / fish dish, well: I found a recipe for stuffed seabass wrapped with slices of ham and cut into sections a little … Do you think this would be good or is there some easier suggestions?
I have to do this every year for my family and they are meat eaters. I can cook a roast nut / pan, let it go cold, roll out pastry short or puff pastry. Cut bread in half you place one half on the pastry then slice of cheese and fresh tomatoes, put bread in the middle. Place the other half at the top then rap and baking the dough around. You can use other filling such as mushrooms and spinach. Another recipe is quick with lentils that makes my family laugh that a lot of lentils lentils.Cook until soft mashed, mixed with black pepper, chili, grated cheese and egg, place on a plate and bake. Sale as a cake, but it goes down a treat. Only a little different. Another quick side dish. Cook kale leaves, strain and dry. Cut the stem leaves left intact. In a bowl mix mashed potatoes a good strong cheese if you can get blue, black pepper, onion. Place a large spoonful of the mixture of the leaf and wrap as a package. When you have enough seats in a baking tray and bake until golden, serve with the rest of food.Makes a change to the peas.
