Confused about the sauce recipe for pizza?
Hello, I found the recipe for pizza and then the sauce recipe and it sounds great, but I just I wanted to check a few things. It says to use 8 ounces of tomato sauce. I'm in Australia and what we call tomato sauce is what you put on fries. Do you think this is what which is intended to be used or would say as a puree sauce, which is like a kind of tomato sauce for pasta base? Any help would be great. Ingredients 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 tablespoon butter With 1 / 2 cup onion, chopped 1 / 4 cup chopped celery 1 clove garlic, minced 1 (8 ounces) tomato sauce 1 (6 oz) tomato paste 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 / 2 teaspoon salt 1 / 2 teaspoon sugar 1 / 4 teaspoon pepper 1 small bay leaf 1 teaspoon black fennel seeds
I live in New Zealand, so I'm assuming we call tomato sauce as well as does so in Australia. half tomato sauce (like ketchup) would not be a good taste in pizza sauce, go for something like mashed potatoes!
