gourmet lunch ideas…what have yo done before?

Im cooking lunch for my bf and i want to do something special i have never cooked for him and hes away in the airforce alot and i wanna cook something really nice because I have never cooked him a proper meal!!!

what have you made that is really nice, small portioned meal…not too hard to make

or any recipe websites that are good….preferably wanna use scotch fillets or chicken or pasta???

a scotch fillet is simplest: bring it to room temperature by leaving it on the counter for several hours and rub both sides with oil, then season them. you can use simple salt and pepper, or try something fancier, like herbs. if you cook til it’s well done, use a medium heat, but if you want it medium or rare, use a high heat (this will make it taste the best, to me) get both sides charred before putting it on the plate. you can pour a little bit of oil into the pan to prevent it from burning as it cooks, but it shouldn’t need it, particularly as a rib eye is usually well marbled.

as a side, try a baked potato and maybe some broccoli and cheese (boil or steam the broccoli, heat a can of cheese soup with a little milk mixed in. and use that as cheese sauce. I add some black pepper and basil to the cheese soup to flavor it as a sauce)

or do cheese sauced vegetables: cut a zuchinni in half lengthwise, then slice the halves into half inch slices. cut cherry tomatoes in half, saute the zuccinni in some butter, then add the tomatoes and saute those too. pour some cheese sauce (like from above, a can of cheese soup with basil and black pepper) over this, add some frozen sugar snap peas and simmer til the peas are done–sounds like a lot of work but it really takes almost no time to do, and is so delicous!

if you take some bread and slice it thick, you can mix some butter with a little garlic and oregano, spread that over the bread and toast the bread in an oven to make garlic bread.
