Name of Italian pasta in particular?
Both grandmothers are Gildone in Campobasso, Italy. A paste made sure it was only used in pasta e Fagioli recipe. Small square, doughy. The word used for it, and the word of my family has always used for it sounds like tuh-Kuts. Almost like "cut." I tried a million different ways to find information about this line of pasta. I have tried to spell these sounds formal and informal spellings. I tried to find dialects in this region of Italy. I know Toccare is "touch" in Italian. And gig is a musical term for "fast moving fingers slightly "passages. All this sounds like to be associated with the rapid cutting of the dough into small squares (like a tic tac toe board huge), but is almost too simple. My grandmother survived (95 years. Age) has no additional information. It's just the name of this pasta and always has been. Any ideas? Anyone? Thanks for your input.
It seems that some regional slang term isolation. Were related grandmothers before her parents married?
