Impress With an Easy Pasta Recipe

You can create a phenomenal dish without having to invest a lot of cash or time. A simple pasta recipe is an easy way to impress friends with your culinary skills. In less than an hour you can create a dish that is both beautiful to behold, and decadent to consume.

Pasta can be a rich hearty dish. It can also be a light, summery affair with the right ingredients. Having a quality wine on hand to serve with any pasta a dish is a simple way to kick your meal up a notch. When it is properly chosen it can enhance the flavors that you have added to the pasta. For this recipe a chilled, dry white wine is recommended.

Fill a large pot with water and place on the burner at high. Make sure that the pot is large enough for your pasta to have plenty of room to boil and cook through without sticking.. Add tri-color pasta when the water is at a full boil. You don’t want to cook the pasta thoroughly yet as it will later simmer in a sauce that will help soften the noodles further. Remove and drain the pasta just when it is al dente.

You will then add sliced mushrooms, chopped garlic cloves and teaspoon of olive oil to a deep pan on medium high heat. You can also use the jar variety of crushed or chopped garlic. Once the mushrooms are tender and the garlic has softened, stir in once can of the seasoned, diced tomatoes that have been finely chopped. The best variety are those that have been seasoned with oregano and basil. You can also use regular stewed tomatoes and add freshly chopped basil of your own if you are willing to take the time.

A great addition is pine nuts. Because the flavor of these are so distinct, it may be best to leave these out if you are entertaining finicky eaters. They also make for a nice substitution for garlic when your company happens to not be found of garlic.

Once this mixture warms to a boil add one half cup finely chopped spinach. Let this simmer for ten minutes and then slowly stir in one quarter cup of heavy cream and one quarter cup of gorgonzola cheese. Season with sea salt or standard table salt to taste. Transfer the contents of the skillet into a large pot. Add in the firm, spiral pasta and let it soften for several minutes in the warm sauce.

The pasta can then be placed into a serving dish and garnished with shredded parmesan cheese. A large, tossed salad served with a vinaigrette dressing as well as sourdough bread will complement this entree nicely. With the right wine, this simple pasta recipe can bring complements to the cook as well.
