rotini pasta recipes noodles
Crockpot question?

I make a spaghetti bake recipe using Rotini, spaghetti sauce, ground beef and shredded cheese. I usually bake it in the oven. I got a crockpot for christmas and am wanting to try this out. I work 8 and a half hours. I will be putting this in the crock pot before I go to work, which means it will be cooking for 9 hours.

I looked up other pasta crock pot meals which say to cook 4 to 6 hours. If I leave it in for 9 hours, do you think that is too long and may make the noodles too soggy?

cook it on low and you will be fine. of course if you add the raw pasta and let it cook all day it will cook over al dente but not be ruined and the starch in the pasta will help to thicken the sauce as the liquids release in the crockpot for the cooking period. my best advice is to cook the pasta in boiling water when you get home and mix it all then!
