Cooking dinner for my girlfriend's father – need help?

My father's girlfriend comes from the city to visit us this weekend and I want to cook something special. I know who likes cooking and old-fashioned country does not like anything too fancy. Can anyone give me some good southern recipes that really impresses you? Thanks, I did that and not have allergies.

First of all, know your girlfriend, if your father is allergic to something.
