please help! is this recipe from my mom used to make friends, she said it was like a "Missouri" recipe

she called "mascacholi" I do not know if that is how his writing. but it was sooo good. It is a pasta dish, I remember her saying she was a bit like spaghetti, but sweeter. and remember she put it in tomato sauce. Anyone know what im talking about? if you can give me the recipe? Thank you.

Baked mostaccioli Ingredients: 8 oz.Mostaccioli lb.Ground meat 1 1 / 2 onion c.Chopped 1 / 4 green pepper 1 garlic c.Chopped cloveMinced 28 oz.Can diced tomatoes pasta sauce 8 oz.Tomato oz.Tomato oz.Can 6 mushrooms 4 1 / 2 1 c. Water t.Salt t.Sugar January 1 1 / 8 pepper cheese t.Black oz.Mozzarella t.Basil 6 1 / 2 c.Grated Parmesan cheese Preparation: Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and reserve. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, cook beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until meat is browned, drain. Combine undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, undrained mushrooms, water, and spices. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the pasta. Turn half of meat mixture into a 3-quart casserole dish or 13×9 baking pan. Layer half of the mozzarella on top. Top with remaining meat mixture and sprinkle with cheese parmesan. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove the foil and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake 5 minutes more.
